How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Have been interested in technology since I was young. After graduating from IUSB with a degree in business, accepted a position selling Main Frame computers to Banks, next sold lending analysis software to banks, a position opened up at Crown International that allowed me to combine my passion for Music with computers, where I became the worldwide sales and support person for their computer based audio analyzer. The desire to be my own boss, led me to leave and start Audio Electronics, which became AE Techron with acquisition of the Techron division of Crown.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are only a few manufacturers in the world that make large industrial audio bandwidth amplifiers. We sell worldwide with approximately 50% of our sales going to customers outside the United States. We have three key strengths, our products are very durable, have very low distortion and noise, and represent a great value.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have manufacturing in Elkhart, IN, service centers in Elkhart, Paris, France and Hong Kong. We have no plans to leave the Elkhart area, but continue to increase staff and square feet at our primary location.
