Fathers, sons, & grandsons, working together makes three generations of the Hahn family that comprise Phil Hahn & Associates, Realtors & Auctioneers. Roger Hahn began his auction company in 1964. Four years later his son, Phil, began working with him. In 1972, Phil decided to venture into the real estate business and in 1979 partnered with Shari Chapman to form their realty company. At a later date, Phil bought the business from Shari and in 1988 it became Hahn Realty. In 1993, his dad’s auction business and the realty joined hands which are now Phil Hahn & Associates, Realtors & Auctioneers.
Phil’s son, Jason, joined the company in 1994. He obtained his Auctioneer and Real Estate Licenses in that same year. Brian Wuthrich joined the Auctioneers in 1991 and received his Real Estate License in 1995. Phil, Jason, and Brian now comprise Hahn Auctioneers, Inc. and are also joined by Auctioneers, Gene Robinson, Jon Stepp and Clint Cripe.
On the Real Estate side of the business Phil’s wife, Karen, has been practicing Real Estate since 1982. Karen’s son, Scot Honeycutt, recently received his Real Estate License (2010) and will be joining the “Home Town Team” of real estate specialists. Jon Stepp has been a part of the real estate team since 1985, and in 1999 Jon acquired his auctioneer’s license as well. Since that time Jon has been assisting clients with both Real Estate and Auctioneering services. Brandi Kitson received her Real Estate license in 2003 and has specialized in residential sales. Laurie Sumpter has had her Real Estate license for the past 26 years and has been a multi million dollar producer. Laurie also specializes in the sale of foreclosure properties. Jill Shields is the office manager for both the Real Estate and Auction sides of the business.
The Real Estate portion of the business covers the Nappanee, Wakarusa, Milford, and New Paris areas; however, the auction side covers all of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and other states. As far as Nappanee is concerned, we are the only home base realtors in town! The Hahn’s feel this unique niche is an asset to their clients. “Because we handle the majority of properties sold in Nappanee, we are more familiar with the area and can provide the best services to prospective clients who are either listing, selling or moving into our area. We are able to direct clients in all kinds of financing. We are proud and pleased to be Nappanee’s HOME TOWN TEAM.”
